Its products sell well in high-end markets across German-speaking regions including Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with partnerships spanning multiple Michelin-starred restaurants, artisanal craft distilleries and organic skincare institutions. Raw materials of the brand comply with stringent standards including EU food additive regulations, IFRA fragrance codes, ECOCERT organic certification and full-traceability systems, featuring a product positioning of natural low irritation and rich layered aroma.
In June 2026, the client launched a brand-new high-end hot drink spice and warm-toned aromatherapy candle product line, requiring exclusive customized cinnamon oil. The client previously contacted 3 domestic manufacturers, yet none could simultaneously meet customized indicators including aroma adjustment, precise ingredient ratio, low irritation, low-temperature fluidity and organic traceability. · Aroma Customization: Ditch the pungent spicy scent of conventional cinnamon oil on the market. 1. Trade-off between aroma and ingredients: Cinnamon oil produced via traditional steam distillation carries sharp spicy notes. Simply toning down spiciness will drastically reduce core cinnamaldehyde content, while maintaining high cinnamaldehyde levels inevitably results in harsh pungent odor.
2. Difficulty in impurity removal: Cinnamon raw materials naturally contain irritants including phenol and benzaldehyde, which cannot be stably controlled at low limits via conventional refining processes, triggering allergen risks.
3. Poor low-temperature fluidity: Ordinary cinnamon oil generally has a solidification point above 16℃, prone to crystallization and wall adhesion under low winter temperatures in Europe, disrupting normal production line operation.
4. Imperfect organic traceability systems: Most manufacturers source raw materials from scattered individual farmers, failing to provide organic planting records, plot traceability and harvest control documents that satisfy traceability requirements of premium brands.
HiSiaddi assembled a cross-functional team of flavor technologists, perfumers, quality controllers and compliance specialists, cooperating with leading manufacturers in core cinnamon producing areas in China to tackle challenges from five dimensions: raw material selection, composite process optimization, impurity removal, physical property adjustment and traceability system construction.
We locked in large-scale organic cinnamon planting bases in Nanping, Fujian, designating exclusive harvesting plots with a complete ban on chemical pesticides and fertilizers to control pesticide residues and impurities at the source. Cinnamon bark from trees aged over 6 years was prioritized for harvesting in the mid-maturity stage, which delivers prominent sweet notes and mild spiciness. Raw materials were processed within 3 hours after picking to avoid off-odors generated by stacking and fermentation, laying a foundation for a soft aroma profile from the source.
Abandoning the single distillation process, we adopted a combined low-temperature vacuum distillation + fractional rectification process:
· Vacuum Distillation Stage: Operated at 85℃ under negative pressure to gently extract active substances, minimize sharp spicy notes and retain natural sweet and woody undertones.
· Fractional Rectification: Fractions were intercepted separately based on GC spectra and proportionally blended precisely. The final cinnamaldehyde content stabilized at 88.4%~89.1%, with eugenol locked at approximately 2.7%, fully matching ingredient requirements.
· Aroma Calibration: Professional perfumers completed 14 rounds of blind sensory tests to fine-tune fraction ratios, finalizing the soft aroma approved by the client and establishing a standard GC-MS characteristic spectrum to guarantee consistent aroma across batches.
A secondary molecular distillation + food-grade activated carbon adsorption post-treatment procedure was added to selectively separate harmful impurities such as phenol and benzaldehyde. The total content of irritating impurities was reduced to 0.45%, far below the client’s limit of 0.6%, significantly lowering allergen risks for food and aromatherapy applications.
Without altering core ingredients, compromising aroma or violating food safety standards, compliant natural fraction blending technology was applied to adjust the oil’s crystallization properties. The finished product’s solidification point dropped to 11.8℃~12.7℃, maintaining excellent fluidity under low winter temperatures in Europe without crystallization or pipeline wall adhesion for automated production equipment.
Exclusive customized batch quality control standards were formulated. Sampling and full-index testing covering ingredients, aroma, solidification point, impurities and pesticide residues were conducted every 2 hours from raw material incoming inspection through distillation, rectification to finished product delivery. GC-MS spectrum similarity between finished batches reached ≥96.5%, delivering highly uniform quality.
A blockchain traceability system was built to record planting plot information, harvest time, process parameters and test data, enabling full-chain traceability via QR code scanning.
