It specializes in natural organic repair hair care products and premium fabric softeners, with products sold across Norway, Sweden, Denmark and other Northern European markets, available in local high-end department stores, organic lifestyle shops and star hotels. Its raw materials comply with EU REACH Regulation, EU Cosmetics Regulation EC 1223/2009 and IFRA Standard Version 51, with extremely stringent requirements on raw material purity, residual impurities, low-temperature stability and compound compatibility.
For this project, the client required customized refined dialkyl (C14~C18) dimethyl ammonium chloride as the core conditioning agent for high-end hair conditioners and silk fabric softeners, with a total order volume of 80 tons. The client put forward clear customized indicators and application requirements: active substance content ≥95%, ultra-low residual free amines and short-chain hydrocarbon impurities; stable pH value of 5.0–6.5 for 10% aqueous solution; no delamination or solidification after 30 days of storage at -12°C; free compounding with plant essential oils and nonionic surfactants without turbidity or sedimentation; full use of plant-based starting raw materials with complete traceability documents, as well as exclusive production processes and confidential formulations.
The client previously contacted multiple domestic manufacturers, yet general industrial-grade products suffered from insufficient purity, excessive impurities, easy caking at low temperatures and poor compound compatibility. Even premium refined grades failed to simultaneously meet multiple narrow-range indicators and traceability requirements, so the client entrusted HiSiaddi with full responsibility for this customized project.
The active substance content of conventional refined dialkyl quaternary ammonium salts generally stays around 90%, and deep purification is required to raise it above 95%. Free amines and organic residues generated during synthesis are hard to fully remove, which would increase product irritation and fail to meet the sensitive skin care standards of Northern Europe.
The storage and transportation temperature in Northern Europe’s winter drops as low as -12°C, while mainstream commercial products tend to delaminate and solidify at around -8°C, making them unsuitable for local environments.
The brand’s formulas contain various plant extracts and aromatic essential oils. Conventional quaternary ammonium salts will damage the colloidal structure after mixing, resulting in haze and precipitation, which impair the appearance and performance of finished products.

We sourced Northern Europe-certified plant-based long-chain alkyl raw materials from designated suppliers, with origin certificates and component test reports attached to each batch. Recycled materials and industrial by-products were rejected. A one-item-one-code traceability system covering "raw material procurement – synthetic reaction – purification filtration – finished product delivery" was built, and all ledgers were translated into English to pass the client’s traceability audit.
We adjusted the catalytic system and reaction temperature, extended rectification duration, and adopted a combined process of multi-stage vacuum distillation and precision membrane filtration. On one hand, the active substance content was stably controlled within the range of 95.2%–95.8%, exceeding the client’s standard; on the other hand, free amines and short-chain hydrocarbon residues were deeply removed, with harmful impurities reduced to below the detection limit. The neutralization procedure was repeatedly calibrated to lock the pH value of 10% aqueous solution within a narrow range of 5.3–6.2 with minimal batch fluctuations.
Without altering core functional effects, we fine-tuned the molecular surface active structure to improve low-temperature fluidity. Multiple rounds of cold resistance tests were conducted: samples were stored in a -12°C constant temperature incubator for 30 days with repeated temperature cycling, presenting uniform paste without solidification or delamination. Meanwhile, hundreds of compatibility tests were carried out by mixing the customized raw material with the client’s commonly used plant essential oils and various surfactants, maintaining a clear and stable system without flocculation or sediment, while retaining stable softening and anti-static performance.
An independent closed production line was designated, and equipment was thoroughly cleaned and isolated before production to avoid cross-contamination. Confidentiality agreements were signed with factories; reaction parameters, purification processes and raw material ratios were encrypted and archived, with a commitment not to share exclusive processes with third parties. Samples were taken for inspection every 2 hours during production, and finished products were fully verified by CNAS-accredited laboratories before warehousing to guarantee batch consistency.
We expedited the preparation of full EU access documents: REACH registration certificates, SVHC screening reports, IFRA Version 51 compliance statements, heavy metal and microbial test reports, and toxicological safety assessment reports, all verifiable on official EU platforms.
