Buyer: DairyPrime, a high-end agriculture and animal husbandry group based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It is a leading supplier of raw materials for high-end pastures in Western Europe, serving organic pastures across the Netherlands, high-yield dairy cow breeding bases in Northern Europe, and exclusive pastures for organic infant milk sources. It specializes in EU antibiotic-free formula feed and organic lactation premixes, complying with EFSA EU feed regulations, EU green low-carbon raw material standards, dual KOSHER & HALAL certifications, and GMP production specifications. The group regularly purchases 45 tons of customized coated rumen-protected methionine annually. Its original supply was customized products from Evonik Germany. Due to tight production capacity and raw material price hikes at local European factories, the group planned to source alternative customized products from China. After contacting three major domestic methionine manufacturers, all customization attempts failed. These manufacturers only mass-produced standard national standard methionine and could not meet the client’s exclusive customized indicators for coating sustained release, particle size, oil coating, and low nitrogen emission. The client entrusted HiSiaddi Foreign Trade to deliver the full-process customized development.
Mandatory Customization Requirements (Distinct from Standard Off-the-Shelf National Standard Products):
1. Coating Customization: Low-temperature coating process with hydrogenated plant palm oil; coating content 18±1%, 72-hour sustained release in rumen and targeted release in small intestine. Conventional spray-coated products fail to meet the sustained release parameters.
2. Particle Size Customization: Narrow particle size range of 0.3~0.6mm after screening, dust proportion ≤1.2%, compatible with the client’s fully automatic micro-premix feeding production line to avoid material stratification and blockages.
3. Indicator Customization: Effective methionine content ≥85.5%, sulfoxide impurity ≤0.1%, heavy metals strictly controlled in line with EU feed limits to comply with EU pasture nitrogen emission reduction regulations.
4. Packaging Customization: 25kg export-specific bags with moisture-proof aluminum lining, English traceable batch labels, standardized stretch-wrapped single pallets compatible with automated vertical warehouse storage in the Netherlands.
1. Three mainstream domestic methionine manufacturers (NHU, Ningxia Ziguang, Hebei Huayang) mainly mass-produce general feed-grade DL-methionine powder. Their conventional coating equipment adopts high-temperature spraying, with no dedicated low-temperature sustained-release coating production lines. Factories were unwilling to invest in R&D and production line adjustments for individual clients, only recommending ready-made standard off-the-shelf products.
2. Factories lacked EU customized testing standards and could only issue national standard COAs. They could not conduct segmented sustained-release in-vitro simulation tests per the Dutch client’s internal control indicators or provide full-item English test reports recognized by the EU.
3. The client required phased supply including lab trials, pilot production and mass production. Factories preferred large-batch full-order production and refused small-batch customized samples of 50kg and 500kg, bringing customized cooperation to a standstill.
Leveraging domestic methionine industrial chain resources, HiSiaddi screened cooperative factories with flexible modification workshops and coordinated the separation of a dedicated coating production line:
· Replaced coating raw materials with low-temperature plant-based oils instead of industrial mineral oils to meet the raw material access requirements of organic pastures.
· Adjusted granulation and grading screening equipment with precision screening devices to strictly control the target particle size of 0.3~0.6mm. After three rounds of formula optimization, the dust rate was reduced from the conventional 6% to below 1.1%, meeting the customization requirements.
1. First Round: Customized 50kg small samples sent to the client’s laboratory in the Netherlands for in-vitro rumen sustained-release simulation tests; coating thickness fine-tuned based on test feedback.
2. Second Round: 500kg pilot mass production. The client conducted small-scale feeding trials on pastures to measure milk yield, protein conversion rate and nitrogen excretion indicators, optimizing the sustained release rate of the coating.
3. After all parameters passed verification, an annual 45-ton order production plan was finalized with monthly delivery in six batches to balance the client’s inventory turnover.
HiSiaddi collaborated with CNAS-accredited third-party laboratories recognized by the EU to conduct customized testing items covering sustained release rate, coating content, related substances, five heavy metals and full microbiological tests per both the Dutch client’s internal control standards and EFSA dual standards. Full English COAs, MSDS and traceability reports were issued. Meanwhile, HiSiaddi assisted factories in completing EU feed raw material filing documents and clean certificates to satisfy Dutch import customs clearance and terminal pasture access requirements.
Cooperated with packaging manufacturers to develop customized moisture-proof bags via separate mold opening, printed with CAS numbers, production batches, country of origin, storage conditions and EU filing numbers. Pallet packaging specifications were optimized to fit forklift handling standards of Dutch vertical warehouses and prevent package damage upon arrival.
1. Dutch DairyPrime Group: The customized products operated smoothly without material stratification or blockages during automatic feeding. Pasture feeding tests showed milk protein increased by 0.18% and nitrogen emissions decreased by 17%, fully replacing German imported raw materials. Overall procurement costs dropped by 29%. Subsequent customized procurement orders were added from cooperative pastures in Belgium and Denmark, expanding annual purchase volume to 72 tons.
