    The buyer BioVerpack GmbH is headquartered in an organic food industrial park on the outskirts of Munich, Bavaria, Germany, a leading domestic mid-to-high-end fully biodegradable food packaging manufacturer in Germany.     Affected by local European chemical plant maintenance, a cumulative 28% annual price hike for BASF’s premium grades, and extended customized lead times exceeding 100 days, the client launched a localization substitution research project for high-performance domestic PBAT to match BASF’s quality. Each supplier only promoted their flagship grades with idealized published parameters, preventing the client from horizontal benchmarking of true physical properties across five brands. The client invested nearly 26,000 EUR purchasing 25kg samples from each manufacturer, and five rounds of in-house machine trials revealed differentiated defects including low-temperature film cracking, volatile MFI, heat-seal leakage, and substandard composting rates—halting brand selection work for two months.

Batch MFI fluctuation ≤±0.2g/10min, delivering industry-leading stability for continuous high-speed film blowing. TH801T holds dual TÜV EN13432 & OK Compost Home certifications plus EU 10/2011 food contact certification, with strict control of low-molecular oligomers and residual BDO monomers—ideal for ultra-thin fresh-keeping films under 18μm for the client. Large-scale Xinjiang production ensures abundant capacity and controllable lead times for bulk ocean shipments. Weaknesses: TH803S targets low-end general packaging raw materials with poor low-temperature bending resistance, unsuitable for the client’s cold-chain fresh produce films. The manufacturer offers limited customized modified grades with insufficient dedicated thermoforming material support.

KF208 is optimized for rheological properties of thick-sheet thermoforming with high melt strength, eliminating shrinkage and bubbles during ready meal tray molding. Both grades hold complete EU compliance certifications, with minor formula adjustments available for small-batch orders. Weaknesses: Premium general grades carry relatively high prices; large-volume spot inventories are prioritized for major domestic clients, leading to slightly longer scheduling cycles for niche grades.

    Jinhui Zhaolong (North China Established PBAT Mass Producer Focused on Mass Market Packaging) Flagship Grade: JL-101 (General Shopping Bag Grade) Strengths: Large-scale mass production with affordable pricing, primarily serving domestic disposable shopping bags and low-end express bag raw material demand. Weaknesses: Formulas incorporate inorganic fillers to cut costs, failing to meet EU 10/2011 stringent oil migration limits. No complete food contact certification available, and films exhibit poor low-temperature toughness.

    Based on neutral evaluation results of the five brands and the client’s three core conditions (dual ultra-thin film blowing + ready meal thermoforming production lines, dual EU composting + food contact mandatory regulations, initial 42-ton small-batch procurement), HiSiaddi eliminated Kanghui, Wanhua, and Jinhui Zhaolong, ultimately confirming two domestic mid-to-high-end benchmark manufacturers (Lanshan Tunhe & Kingfa Science & Technology) with three finalized grades precisely matched to separate product lines:

    1. Lanshan Tunhe TH801T (Primary Grade No.1): Dedicated to 15~22μm ultra-thin organic fresh produce fresh-keeping blown films, accounting for 27 tons of the initial order. Narrow-distribution stable physical properties resolve the client’s prior issues of film bubble deviation, uneven thickness, and cold-chain cracking, supported by complete TÜV dual composting and food compliance certificates.

    2. Kingfa KF106 (Supplementary Reinforcement Grade No.2): Small-volume blending with TH801T to optimize heat-seal oil resistance, with 8 tons purchased for high-oil berry fresh-keeping films, delivering zero additive migration upon immersion in acidic fruit and vegetable juice.

    3. Kingfa KF208 (Thermoforming-Dedicated Grade No.3): Fully allocated to biodegradable ready meal tray thermoforming (7 tons purchased), optimizing melt strength to eliminate molding shrinkage and edge brittleness defects.

    Sample Lab Trial Phase

    HiSiaddi coordinated the two manufacturers to produce 50kg samples of corresponding grades each, uniformly vacuum moisture-sealed and consolidated for air shipment to the client’s German factory, with bilingual physical data sheets, certification reports, and raw material traceability documents fully attached. The client ran continuous 72-hour full-load machine trials on original European imported 3-layer co-extrusion film blowers and negative-pressure thermoforming machines: The yield rate of ultra-thin films jumped from 61% in mixed multi-brand testing to 98.7%, with zero breakage after 72 hours of cold storage at -22°C and 1,000 bending cycles. Ready meal thermoformed trays formed intact without bubbles or brittleness. SGS German laboratory retesting recorded total oil migration of 3.1mg/dm² (surpassing the client’s internal control limit of ≤5mg/dm²), with an 180-day compost biodegradation rate of 96.5%—all indicators passing EU regulations in one inspection.
