Purchaser: Rubber-Aut GmbH, Vienna, Austria A long-established European Tier 2 auto parts supplier specializing in new-energy vehicle EPDM water-cooled sealing gaskets, white food-grade on-board water delivery rubber hoses and transmission NBR oil seals. Its products supply AVL Austria and local European new-energy vehicle OEMs, complying with EU REACH, RoHS, DIN rubber standards and IATF16949 automotive OEM access specifications. The client previously purchased original Eastman PVI exclusively; facing surging European raw material prices and extended delivery cycles, they planned localized substitution with an annual total PVI demand of 125 tons (60 tons high-purity powder, 65 tons pre-dispersed granules).
The client independently contacted five leading domestic PVI manufacturers: Yanggu Huatai (Shandong), Jiangsu Sennics, Henan Yongxin, Shandong Sunsine and Ningbo Actmix. Combining the client’s dual production systems of white EPDM rubber (requiring high-purity low-color powder) and black NBR sealing components (requiring EPDM-carrier granules), Sennics, Sunsine and Yongxin were eliminated as they cannot simultaneously satisfy both low-color requirements for white rubber and EPDM-carrier requirements for black sealing parts. Two mid-to-high-end brands – Yanggu Huatai and Ningbo Actmix – with three applicable grades were finalized:
1. Yanggu Huatai PVI-HP High-Purity Refined Powder (Grade 1): Exclusively for white on-board water delivery EPDM rubber, free phenol 21ppm, APHA color 32, fully compliant with EU food-contact additive standards and eliminates finished product yellowing.
2. Yanggu Huatai PVI-80-E (EPDM-Carrier Granules, Grade 2): Backup material for black NBR oil seals with exceptional stability and minimal batch fluctuation.
3. Ningbo Actmix CTP-80GS (EPDM Pre-Dispersed Granules, Grade 3): Primary mass production material for black sealing components with leading pre-dispersion technology achieving full uniform dispersion within 3 minutes of mixing, eliminating localized scorch.
1. Batch split trial testing: HiSiaddi coordinated 25kg sample shipments from both manufacturers, replicated client mixing operating conditions in our in-house laboratory, confirming no blooming or yellowing in white rubber and uniform dispersion without scorch in black rubber. Samples were also sent to the Austrian factory for 72-hour continuous on-site production testing, passing all third-party SGS and automotive OEM laboratory inspections in one submission.
